At LUXr, interns don’t need to share a Glock.
LUXr is always on the lookout for emerging designers and entrepreneurs—job changers, recent graduates, or current students.
Our interns work with some of the most interesting early stage companies around and come out with a deep understanding of what it takes to do Lean UX.
What’s In It For You?
- Work with early stage tech companies doing fabulously interesting things
- Be exposed to Agile and Lean methodologies
- Learn how to incorporate good user experience into products from the ground up
- Get coaching on a project that you define, develop and make real
- Be part of the LUXr community forever
- Unicorns and rainbows!
Warning: A LUXr internship will ruin you for crap jobs. Don’t apply if you aspire to mid-level management consulting.
Meet the Interns
Tobi Adamolekun (Summer 2011)
Tobi Adamolekun is a designer and an aspiring entrepreneur. He has a masters in both Architecture and Sustainable Environmental Design and is currently a partner at the environmental design consultancy Symphysis. His interests in conceptual architecture has led him to work in firms such as R&Sie(n) Architects in Paris and Zaha Hadid Architects in London. His current architectural work encompasses the design of collaborative architectural installations and the design of spaces for early stage companies. While at Luxr, Tobi is also working on Precedent.
Shuqiao Song (Fall 2011)
Shuqiao Song is a recent Stanford grad living out her dreams at the intersection of design and startups. So it’s no surprise that she found her way to LUXr! She’s picking up some more UX chops while working on “top secret” projects here in the next few months. She also wants future interns to know that in addition to having good taste in design, the LUXr team also has good taste in food. Really, really good taste.
Paige Costello (Summer 2011)
Paige Costello broke all previous LUXr records for smiles, optimism and asking probing, sophisticated questions. So it won’t be a surprise that she’s majoring in Global Business and Literature at Claremont-McKenna. She also does theater, design and writes. Paige wrote and assembled the content for the relaunch of the LUXr web presence, as well as lead a project to help the LUXr team define and celebrate the core values of the company. Watch for Paige…you’ll hear more about her, we know.
Kevin Burke (Summer 2011)
Kevin Burke, front-end-developer wunderkind, blazed through the Summer of 2011 by writing code, jumping into each challenge with vigor, and keeping the energy at LUXr off the charts high. Kevin, a 2011 graduate of Claremont-McKenna in LA, left LUXr to work at Google. We miss him, but still get to see him at LUXr and UX events around town. Kevin blogs at kev.inburke.com
Christin Staubo (Winter 2011)
Christin is a designer with a passion for user-centered innovation processes. She has studied social anthropology at Berkeley and graduated from Stanford with a Masters in design. Her curiosity in creating amazing user experiences and cultural understandings has taken her from the woods of Norway to busy NYC, where she currently manages and designs health services for Johnson & Johnson with livework.co.uk. You can see her work at www.emaces.com.
Robin Andersen (Fall 2010)
Robin Andersen was our smashing intern for fall 2010, and occasionally stops by to lend a hand. Her work spans genre—photo, video, web, and front-end production. Robin is the photographer behind many of the headshots and portraits you’ll see of SF tech industry leaders. Learn more about Robin at robinandersen.com
